Are you booking your next ‘Ladies Day’ football function? Why not get the very funny ladies from The Downlow podcast, Geraldine Hickey, Anne Edmonds and Kate McLennan along as entertainment?
We are very happy to announce that the award-winning comedians from The Downlow are available for performances at football clubs, sporting and business functions. We have an hour-long show where Geraldine, Anne and Kate perform stand-up, musical comedy and some of your favourite podcast segments like the world-famous ‘Food Review’. Do you think your footy club canteen has a good snap of the dog? Are there any candidates for ‘Dropkick of the Week’ floating around your boundary line? And will we hear some colourful ‘Calls of the Day’ being shouted from car windows? We’d love to come along to your footy club and find out.

This week we went along to the Gold Coast Sun v Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium and while the game wasn’t much chop we still had a lot to talk about in our round-up; the food review, Barry Hall’s 700th goal, banner erections and ‘Call of the Week’. This week we also have special guest Michael Chamberlin talking about his beloved Hawks.
Join Geraldine, Anne and Kate for the first episode of The Downlow.
This week the Downlow ladies attended the nail-biter of a match between Sydney and Melbourne at the MCG - which they’ve talked about in very little detail. What they DO talk about is the supporters, cheersquad, half time snacks, why Gezza and Anne barrack for Essendon and why Kate HATES Essendon along with special phone ins from a couple of guest tippers.
Join Geraldine Hickey, Anne Edmonds and Kate McLennan for their footy podcast ‘The Downlow.’
Each week the ladies will report back on their ‘Match of the Week’ and will also be joined by an array of colourful guests. They’ll express a range of ill-informed opinions on a variety of subjects to do with the game of AFL. The girls will tackle everything from quarter time snacks to spectator etiquette, tram talk to Dennis Cometti’s ‘Simile of the Week,’ the suicidal lows of being a Richmond supporter and having a tear On Brunton Ave after a win. The Downlow celebrates everything that we love about going to the footy today and all that we remember from when we were kids. It could get a little emotional.
A podcast from three spectators who don’t know a hell of a lot, but what they do know they’ll shout really loudly during the third quarter
Geraldine Hickey, Anne Edmonds and Kate McLennan are regulars on the Melbourne stand-up comedy scene. Last year while drinking beer and talking rubbish they decided to do a podcast about watching footy, drinking beer and speaking rubbish.
